The Owners

Eliza and Rob are two passionate artists that combined their talents to create a unique salon experience in Vancouver. Eliza was known in Vancouver as a balayage queen for various professional salons, and Rob had built a solid reputation around town for being an gifted headshot and event photographer. Together, they decided to create a place where a collective of artists could work together with a similar vision.

Eliza and Rob were able to realize their dreams and open the first Artel Salon location on Fraser Street during July 2015. After the success and popularity of the Fraser Street location, Eliza and Rob decided to open another location in the Cambie area on May 2017.

Vancouver has a vibrant community with independent shops and restaurants. Some of Artel’s neighbours are the most popular spots in the city including Matchstick Coffee, Sal y Limon (the tortas are a must), Nice Shoes, Earnest Ice Cream (the best sundae game in town), Porto Cafe, and Yolk’s. Eliza and Rob are happy to be a part of both the East and West side communities in the city, and feel lucky that they get to share a variety of experiences throughout Vancouver.

Eliza and Rob are overwhelmed by the love and support from their neighbours, friends, and families, and could not have done this journey without them. They are excited to see what the future will bring for Artel Salon.

Eliza is addicted to good coffee, good food, good local businesses and the companionship of good people. She has spent a few month studying abroad in Kenya back in her college days and she totally loved the experience!
Rob Trendiak hails from Calgary, Alberta but don’t hold that against him.  He first picked up a camera to shoot skateboard photos and music videos for his friends in high school and has been documenting life on film ever since.
