Eileen Maroufi – Vancouver Hairstylist Obsessed With Highlighting Hair
Whether it’s because she’s a tad bit OCD, striving for her hairstyling clients to have their dream hair or she just loves the repetition that foiling achieves, one thing is for sure that is Eileen Maroufi is a highlighting master. Beyond loving highlights and being an overall fantastic hairstylist, Eileen’s favourite part of her job is making her clients feel amazing. This winning combo of being a highly skilled hairstylist and her ability to make anyone who sits in her chair feel welcomed and loved is why Eileen is one of our most popular hairstylists.
What Is Eileen’s Journey To Becoming A Hairstylist?
Originally Eileen started her career in finance. Her family is in finance and her knack for numbers and made it an easy choice. So it was a no brainer then that at the age of 18, Eileen went into finance. One day when she was at the hair salon, Eileen’s hairstylist suggested that she would make a really great hairstylist because of her creativity and charismatic personality. Eileen recognized that her career in finance didn’t allow her to express her creative passions. Eileen took her hairstylist’s insight seriously and enrolled in hair school shortly after and she never looked back. This has been the best decision Eileen has ever made. Being a hairstylist has transformed her life. For the first time in her life, Eileen would come to work feeling excited and energized and go home feeling like she is making a difference in the world.
What is the difference between Highlights and Balayage?
Although Eileen loves doing highlights, she actually is a well-rounded hairstylist. She can do balayage and ombre hair colours, men’s and women’s haircuts, and so much more. The reason she loves highlights so much is that, when highlighting hair, you bring the blonde all the way up to the roots creating a bright blonde dimension from roots to ends. With balayage or ombre, the roots of the hair are natural or have a darker hair colour and the hair fades to blonde at the ends creating a natural, sun-kissed hairstyle. So if you are looking for an all-over bright blonde hair colour, highlights are the way to go!
Eileen’s recommendations for Autumn Hairstyling
Fight Frizzy Hair
As autumn leads into the winter, Eileen highly suggests the Kevin.Murphy Treat.Me Moisture hair treatment. This is an in-salon treatment that is done at the sink. Frizz happens when hair dries out and this hair treatment will dramatically improve the quality of your hair. So next time you are in the salon getting your highlights with Eileen, make sure to ask her for the Kevin.Murphy Treat.Me Moisture hair treatment!
The Tripple Threat
In order to get the most out of your newly highlighted hair, you want to take home the proper hair care products. The triple threat to fight frizz at home is Smooth.Again.Wash by Kevin.Murphy for Shampoo, Smooth.Again.Rinse for hair conditioner and finish it off with Un.Tangled for your leave-in hair treatment.
To ensure your hair stays fab all day long, you want to use a good hairspray to create the perfect finish to your hairstyle. Eileen recommends Session.Spray to hold everything in the right place.
