Talking Origami and Doctor Who with Stylist Kalli Wyssen
Kalli Wyssen is a stylist at Artel’s Cambie location and specializes in balayage and blonde colours (she LOVES doing fun pastel balayages, too). She went to the Blanche MacDonald Centre to do her training, and enjoyed learning the latest in techniques throughout her program.
If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
I would spend my time doing art. I’ve always loved painting, arts and crafts and DIY projects.
If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning a medal for?
If only organizing became an Olympic sport – I would have a very good chance of winning a medal at that. I can’t help but feel satisfied when organizing a book shelf, colour boxes, or any type of space.
What skill would you like to master?
(Hair skillz) – I am always really impressed with updos and how simple other hairstylist make them look.
(Non hair skillz) – I would really like to master the art of origami. I find it very relaxing.
What would be the most amazing adventure to go on?
I would love to travel to see the North. I could sleep in an igloo and see the Aurora Borealis – sounds very Canadian but it’s something I’ve always been Interested in.
What shows are you into?
All the British crime shows, and medical shows. I’m also a very big doctor who fan. Fun fact: I went to London for the 50th anniversary convention.
How do you relax after a hard day of work?
Usually I like to come home and watch some TV if I’m not in the mood to socialize.
